Celebrities Who Own and Ride Harleys

The ninety-eight year old Harley Davidson firm has as many celebrity owners and riders to match its history and more. The most famous image of Harley riders is the shot of Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda on their Harleys from the 1969 movie, "Easy Rider." Elvis Presley owned several Harleys. Marlon Brando was also an early aficionado. In addition, Steve McQueen, Bob Dylan, Clark Gable, and James Dean were also early fans. One of the richest men in the world, Malcolm Forbes, founder of Forbes Magazine, owned at least fifty Harleys.

Even Elizabeth Taylor rode a Harley. She was not the only woman to ride. Bridgette Bardot, Cher, Camryn Manheim, Tina Turner, Angelina Jolie, and all of Charley's Angels rode Harleys. Many actresses and models have been photographed provocatively with a Harley without ever actually riding one.

Among today's celebrities who ride Harleys are Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Jackson Browne, Jay Leno, Criss Angel, Bruce Willis, George Clooney, and Vin Diesel. There are so many diverse people from Hollywood celebrities to political icons that ride Harleys, as even Bill Clinton has been seen astride a Harley.

Today, the average Harley Davidson rider skews toward young men, married, well-educated, in their thirties, and in white collar jobs. Yet, the allure of the powerful motorcycle will always appeal to celebrities of both sexes.

Harley Davidson is as known for its merchandising for men, women and children, as it is for motorcycles. Riders are known for their road trips and large gatherings.
