Getting on a motorcycle and riding to a destination to socialize with thousands of other riders is what rallies are all about. It seems like every state in the nation has some sort of rally or bike event, but there are a few that really stand out.
One of the most famous is the Sturgis, South Dakota rally, where approximately 600,000 people meet each year. The main street of the city is open only for bikes and riders to wander and see the thousands of customized Harleys that are on display. The rides around the area include Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, the Grand Rapids and the Needle Highway.
Bike Week in Daytona Beach during the first week of March is another popular rally. This is a 10 day festival that was founded in 1937, where cyclists from around the world come together to see musical groups, extreme motorcycle shows and participate in many other activities. The ride in this area is called the Loop. It is a rider's dream, with nice winding curves, a lot of sunshine, and the lovely Floridian landscape. A less known event in the same area is Biketoberfest in mid-October, where all the rates are a bit cheaper since it is in the off season.
Another wonderful event is the Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale. It is a 10 day festival with entertainment and riding in the magnificent Sedona and Grand Canyon National Park. There are so many beautiful places to visit that host biker events.
