Vets and Harleys: Freedom for Both

The Harley-Davidson Company salutes veterans as they know that most Harley-Davidson riders are decent law abiding citizens who many times are or have been in the military. These veterans give personal sacrifices by putting their lives on the line for our freedom and liberty. Likewise, riding a Harley gives a great feeling of freedom when you feel the wind in your face and the sound of the machine which is what is fought for by our veterans every day. As far back as 1916, Harley Davidson has a unique bond and heritage with the military.

The Harley-Davidson Foundation on March 5, 2007 pledged one million dollars to the Disabled American Veterans and Mobile Service Offices as they organize the Harley's Hero Tour. The tour makes many stops at Harley-Davidson dealerships. All the dealerships hold benefits to assist veterans in their communities. All benefits help veterans of all ages and needs.

The Harley-Davidson Company goes to all ends to help provide better lives for veterans and their families. In 1993, the Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc. was established. The foundation's investments are mostly in community revitalization and education while health, arts and culture, national veterans initiatives and environmental programs are also supported by Harley-Davidson.

Harley-Davidson recognizes that no one can take for granted the level of commitment and dedication that is had by our military. All veterans are provided the chance to customize their cycle with details that honor their military service. This includes a Special Edition of a 2007 Patriot program. These special programs are available to veterans of the US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, US Army, US Navy and the US Air Force.
