Harley Davidson's Unique Styles

Harley Davidson is traditionally known for their custom and cruising styles rather than the sport style bikes. Harley Davidson offer five main styles to choose from straight off the line. They are the Sportster, Dyna, Softail, V-Rod and Touring Models. Within each base model, there are several more customized versions from which a buyer can pick to meet their needs.

The Sportster has a smaller engine and frame design. They are also the lightest model offered by Harley Davidson. The Sportster is considered a great choice for beginners or smaller individuals, such as the female rider. Additionally, this model comes in two engine sizes and is typically the least expensive model.

The Dyna model comes with a dual shock rear suspension. Like the Sportster and Softail, the Dyna has a lighter front end. One feature that separates it from other models is the rubber mounted engine. This option reduces engine vibration. The Dyna is considered a classy street bike by most riders.
The Softail is the trademark to the Harley Davidson line. They reflect the style from the early days with the rigid mount look. The bike utilizes a hidden shock system which provides rear suspension, making this a great choice for those who ride on a daily basis. The Softail is lighter than the touring or cruising models.

The V-Rod is Harley's newest model. This original bike combines the typical power of a Harley, but the style of an import sports bike. However, the designers managed to maintain the stretched out forward controls, which is true to Harley's signature look.

The Touring Models are heavier bikes designed for long road trips or just taking a day cruise. Referred to as baggers, these bikes allow for storage of personal items, as well as the convenience of a radio and more. This model is not recommended for the beginner biker as they weigh in at approximately 800 pounds.
