Harley Davidson Trikes

Harley-Davidson has been planning the release of a “trike,” or three wheeled motorcycle, for some time now. They felt that the standard bikes might be too hard to handle for some, being too tall or to heavy. Some bikers were unable to maneuver bikes that weighed eight hundred pounds or more. Riding a three wheel bike gives a smaller rider the freedom, comfort and stability to enjoy riding a motorcycle.

Building the trikes was a new idea for Harley and took them longer than some other motorcycle companies. This type of bike gives the rider increased stability. The bike they introduced was called the Tri Glide Ultra Classic. The cost of this bike is thirty thousand dollars with another twelve hundred for an electric transmission. Harley also introduced a motorcycle with a V-Rod engine.

They also dropped three bikes from their 2009 line. These were the Night Rod, Sportster, and Wide Glide. The new V-Rod was built to impress those who ride other brand cycles. Harley also redesigned the bikes from the ground up, including advanced tire designs and a new custom chassis. With the introduction of the V-Rod, Harley-Davidson is trying to attract the attention of the younger rider, while the trike is geared toward the older rider.

The Harley line of trikes is already being rolled out and are expected to be a hot ticket item. The Tri Glide Ultra Classic will come with three color choices. These are Vivid Black, Dark Blue Pearl, and Red Hot Sunglo. No matter the color, the style or the number of wheels, a Harley-Davidson is a great addition to any motorcycle collection.
