Harley-Davidson Represents American Freedom

Harley-Davidson was started in 1903, and has survived both the Great Depression and the two World Wars. Since then, Harley-Davidson has undergone many changes. What was once just a motorcycle shop is now a lifestyle of its own. Harley-Davidson has always strived to show that they represent freedom. The American eagle, flag, and other symbols of freedom have always been seen on their products.

In May of each year, thousands and thousands of Harley riders gather in the nation's capital to show support and respect for current and former members of the military and veterans. In 2008, President George Bush received leaders of Rolling Thunder and their bikes during this event. The bikers had placed the American flag on each of their bikes and rolled onto the grounds of the White House. Rolling Thunder continued to the National Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial to show respect to fallen servicemen and women.

The Harley Owners Group organization consists of over 295,000 worldwide members with 900 local chapters. The number of women enthusiasts have grown in the sport of motorcycling due to HOG membership being open to any rider, regardless of sex, age, or race. They too seek the freedom associated with hitting the open road. Women riders are passionate about Harley-Davidson motorcycles and encourage more women to act on their dreams of learning to ride.

The love of freedom, individualism, and the pursuit of happiness has become the Harley rider's attitude. Members feel that they have been brought together by a love of the open road, freedom, brotherhood and their Harley-Davidson. Harley-Davidson is a company that represents America, freedom, patriotism, and adventure.
