There is probably no other conveyance of any kind with more accessories offered than Harley Davidson motorcycles. Their basic bikes and their riders are just blanks waiting to be customized. There are two base materials that are used in customization: chrome and leather.

Before you even purchase a Harley, you can load it up with accessories. The Harley Davidson web site has a program where you can pick accessories and see what they look like on the bike you are buying. They break accessories up into three categories, which are fit, function, and style.

In the fit section, it is all about how your bike fits you. A variety of handlebars is offered, from drag bars to ape hangers and everything in between. There are also foot pegs or foot pedals to adjust your seating positions and a whole line of different seats. Harley seats are easily removable, so for different types of riding, you may want to have different seats. There is a selection of suspensions for the rider’s weight, ride, or preference.

In the function category are items such as windshields. Windshields come in differing styles and heights to fit the rider. Like the seats, these are easily removable. Saddlebags, luggage systems, and luggage racks are also a part of this category. These items range in color from leather, to black, to chrome, and are offered in all sizes and styles. Style comes last and with it comes chrome. You can chrome pretty much anything on the bike that you like, such as engine parts, wheels, and pipes. Anything that does not shine, can.

Even though it is not part of the bike itself, a biker's clothing is another important accessory. Leather clothing is very popular for Harley riders. Jackets, vests, pants, chaps, bikinis, and anything else you may want are all available from Harley-Davidson. Boots, bandannas, sunglasses are also available to tie the look together. There are even Harley dog toys and spiked collars.
