Harley Davidson and Freedom

There is no better expression of American freedom than to hit the open road on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Harley Davidson was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1903. In 1910, the “Bar & Shield” was first used, which became the company's trademark. The qualities of strength, reliability, American values, patriotism, and freedom have been the principles of Harley Davidson for over 100 years. In 1981, with "The Eagle Soars Alone" as its rallying cry, the American eagle became a symbol associated with Harley Davidson.

Beginning in 1917, Harley Davidson supplied the U.S. military with 20,000 motorcycles for use in the battlefields of Europe during World War I. This sense of patriotism grew through continuing the tradition of providing bikes for the military in subsequent wars, and state and city law enforcement agencies. To date the Blue Star Flag, which indicates a family member is in U.S. military service, is proudly displayed at the Harley factory.

Riding a Harley is a sensual experience. You can feel its strength beneath you as it warms up. Listen to the roar of the engine and enjoy the entire experience of watching the scenery pass, breathing the rush of air as you cruise, and handling the motion of the bike. Remember that “not all who wander are lost.” When arriving at your destination feel free to express, “Good God! What a Ride!!!!!!!” as you partook in the irresistible freedom not only of the road, but of the spirit.
