Famous Harley Davidson Owners

Back in the 1950’s, Harley riders were considered to be unkempt, dirty rebels up to no good. They inspired fear when they rode in a group. The movie industry helped solidify this image with many "biker gang" films, usually featuring a group of sullen youths looking for trouble when they rode into town.

Times have certainly changed. Harleys are now ridden by both sexes, all ages, and people from every walk of life. Some even bring their pets along. The Harley rider image is now more like the guy next door. Sometimes, that might even be a celebrity.

Since Harley riding has become so popular, it has also become a great way to raise money for charities. These larger charity rides usually have several celebrities involved. We have all seen photos of Jay Leno, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Bruce Springsteen, Dennis Hopper, etc., out on their Harleys. But there are some other riders you might not be aware of, like Dan Aykroyd, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Lorenzo Lamas, Pat Boone, and Harrison Ford. Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't just ride a Harley in the movies- he rides them in real life, too.

Harleys aren't just a man's toy anymore, either. Female celebrity riders include Pamela Anderson, Lauren Hutton, Tina Turner, Wynona Judd, Cher, and Kirstie Alley, to name just a few. Celebrities riding Harleys isn’t anything new. Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis, Evel Knievel, Larry Hagman, Brigitte Bardot, and Steve McQueen were all riders, and of course, so was James Dean.
