Bikers have long been associated with drinking, fighting, and having tattoos all over their bodies. While these are only stereotypes, it is true that many bikers to choose to express themselves through body art. Almost any design can be tattooed on a body and there are many tattoos that are common or popular amongst bikers.
One of the most popular tattoos among bikers today is the Harley Davidson bar and shield. To them, it represents their choice in motorcycle and a loyalty to the brand. There are many different variations of the Harley Davidson logo when it comes to tattoos, which include flames and what model of bike they ride.
Amongst the old school bikers, skulls, portraits of women, and flames are among the most popular tattoos. Skull tattoos can also have many variations, including names with them, roses in the mouth of the skull, and snakes coming out of the skull's eyes. Popular tattoos of women range from scantily clad vixens to nudes on bikes.
If a biker is affiliated with a club or gang, a popular tattoo is their club's colors or logo. Many times, hardcore bikers in a gang or club display their tattoos on their necks and faces. Patriotic tattoos on bikers include eagles, the American Flag, or often times their branch of service. Many older bikers are military veterans and they often include their years of service, branch of service and its logo, or even where they served in the form of a military tattoo.
Biker tattoos can range from mild to wild, and everywhere in between. Whether it be a flaming skull or a simple heart with the biker's mother's name in it, biker tattoos are very common. However, each one tells a completely different story about the person it is attached to.
