Smashed Heads or Safe Heads?

In the United States of America there are currently four states that do not have a mandatory helmet law to enforce the safety of motorcyclists in a crash. New Hampshire’s logo says live free or die and that is what the motorcycle drivers are doing. If they wear one they will live and if they don’t their chances are minimal. New Hampshire does make it mandatory for anyone under the age of 18 to wear one.

Out of all the other states, there are some that have what is called semi-free helmet laws and some that are all for helmet use no matter the age. There are currently 7 states that seem to have an issue the motorcycle user’s age and being able to ride without the helmet. Helmets are required to ride in 20 of the states no matter what.

As the years go by the U.S. is starting to get a little more lenient with the laws of helmet use when riding a motorcycle. This is unfortunately a factor in more deaths related to motorcycle accidents. There are far more deaths in the southern part of the U.S. than there are in the northern parts. This is most likely because of year round riding in the south.

There are some states that have laws that all passengers must wear helmets in order to be on the motorcycle. Then some states will allow riders to ride without if only if they have medical insurance and they do need to show proof.
